discoverynews: SpaceX Dragon Capsule Splashes Down Space Exploration Technologies aced a practice mission to the International Space Station, completing a nine-day flight of its unmanned Dragon capsule with a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean on Thursday. Riding beneath a trio of 116-foot wide parachutes, the bell-shaped ship landed about 560 miles west of Baja, California at 11:42 a.m. EDT. Earlier Thursday, astronauts aboard space station used the 58-foot long Canadian robotic arm to fly Dragon out of the docking slip where it had spent the past six days and release it into space for the quick journey back to Earth. keep reading

Space Exploration Technologies aced a practice mission to the International Space Station, completing a nine-day flight of its unmanned Dragon capsule with a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean on Thursday.

Riding beneath a trio of 116-foot wide parachutes, the bell-shaped ship landed about 560 miles west of Baja, California at 11:42 a.m. EDT.
